Diary Writing
In Year 6, we have been reading, “There’s a boy in the girls’ bathroom” which is a hilarious novel by Louis Sachar.
So far we have met characters Bradley, a boy who is struggling with his behaviour and Jeff, a new boy to the school. Jeff is torn between making friends with Bradley (so far his only friend at his new school) or hurting Bradley’s feelings and making friends with a group of boys who don’t like Bradley.
The story is set in America and the learners were given the task of writing a diary entry in character. One learner donned his best American accent and read out Miss Hunter’s WAGOLL (What A Good One Looks Like).
Learners have really slipped into the character of Jeff, referring back to the story closely and producing some great diary entries.
