Trinity Academy Newcastle Lower Site aims to provide a personalised curriculum combining core subjects with more specialist choices where the learner's individual needs are paramount.
At Trinity Academy Newcastle Lower Site we promote an inclusive environment in which each individual is valued and respected. Our vision is to create confident, competent and kind citizens of the future, which we embed throughout our curriculum. We have high expectations of attainment for all learners and tailored support to each individual child where needed. We recognise that all children and young people need a solid foundation of positive mental health to benefit fully from all of the opportunities that are available to them.
The Lower Site curriculum is designed around our core trust values which are integrated into all our learning activities. We emphasise the importance of kindness & calm, through the tenant of learners being in the ‘right place, at the right time, doing the right thing & being kind’. We value the importance of embedding our values, creating a ‘Trust’ foundation to support readiness for next steps. Aligning the curriculum with that of the Upper site guarantees consistency, making the transition from Lower to Upper Site seamless for our learners. We strive for every learner to make progress from their individual starting points and establish a baseline at the beginning of the year or at transition points to ensure readiness for the next step.
At Trinity Academy Newcastle, we do not see ability as permanent or pre-determined. Learners may arrive with gaps in their learning due to turbulence in previous schools and we relish the opportunity to work with learners to reach their potential. Achievement is carefully monitored and any learner falling below our high expectations is quickly given sharp and specific intervention.
